Actually many people buy Strategy guides, I do too, but, as the random wanker said, they’re for RPG and Japanese RPGs. Have you ever tried get 100% in any Final Fantasy game (or do everything when percentages weren’t the latest fashion) without a guide? Anyway, this comixed is REALLY funny
Finally. Way to go.
Yeah, yeah I know…it’s just that you can get the same info online, for free. The only strategy guide I own is for Fable, my parents bought it…I thought it was completely useless and took the fun out of the game. I get your point for those games with tons of hidden stuff but yeah, internetz.
Well, yes, that’s true but unless you read the infos before playing or you print it yourself it’s not comfortable to play and look on the internet at the same time. And that’s because you usually don’t do a single task, save, switch to the comp, read a little more, play a little more… rinse and repeat.
Having a good guide, well written, fully detailed with photos/maps/whatever on your lap WHILE playing is definitely worth the price of it IMHO.
As for the “taking out the fun of the game” you don’t have to play it with a guide on you first attempt. As for myself I always beat the game once, then, if I think it’s worth, I buy the guide and re-play it with the guide.
For Oblivion I actually beat the game several times over before buying the guide and play it fully.
Fail. Biden’s son, US Army Captain Beau Biden, recently returned from a year-long deployment in Iraq. he had the stones to serve, unlike 99% of you dicks.
People like this ^ are funny to me. Some of us have served, are too old or too young to serve. But you are here to condemn anonymous people on the internet for making fun of the Vice Presidents son. Prince Harry Served… whats your point? That is take s a “man” to murder people for no reason….
I buy them for certain games, but I typically just have them as collector’s items. I collect video games and video game related stuff. I don’t really need a guide for MW2, but I might like one to find all the hidden stuff in the game (there isn’t much).
Usually the internet works just fine for me. The only strategy guide I have owned was for Morrowind, and that was given to me by a friend, and given to him by another friend.
I used to get Strategy guides because in High school I had Dial-Up, no printer, and the computer was in another room. The 10$ bucks saved me a lot of trouble. But these days, high speed internet and a computer less than 6 inches from my TV have rendered them uneccesary.
Even before the internet was popular, I never understood why people bought strategy guides. They’re written by people who rushed through the game with an advanced copy of the game.
I guess they’re just for people who like looking at pictures of the game they’re playing.
That -is- the strategy guide. You can clearly see the ‘bradygames’ logo in the upper left. Don’t let the odd shadow at the bottom of the guide fool your eye.
Is that actually biden jr?
Excellent comix.
No Xibit(sp?) or Reaction Guys? Check.
Original? Check.
Actually makes sense? Check.
Funny? Check.
Nice one, Gooooo.
Typical modern over-use of the word “actually”: check!
Grammar police? Really? This is the internet. Bastardizations of the English language is not “news”.
Haha. :0
(See? Positive comment.)
you guys are comin back
thank god
holly cow!!!
nice one!!! really made me laugh! exellent job!
Thank god! The quality is back!
LOLZ…who actually buys strategy guides?!?!
Quite a few people actually. :0 Usually for RPGs, I’ve never heard of a FPS strategy guide.
I have a Half-Life (1, the first) strategy guide. Although labeled as such, it’s more like a paper form walkthrough.

i do, but mostly because i want to read something while i am on the crapper
Houston, we have win!
Finally a good one!
I agree, I like this one! I actually bought one for Left 4 Dead and never used it. I feel ashamed just saying that.

“son I am disapoint” would have been a better last line for Biden, but it is still pretty funny.
I only need guides if the game is in Japanese or something.
LOL! Good one.

@Cougar Whacker: lol, i get the morrowind guide, i have one that i got the same way.
Funny comic. But, unfortunately that isn’t a strategy guide. It’s the box for the box set. Unless the guide for MW2 is 3 and half inches thick…
LOL. Funny as hell.. That huy looks hilarious in his military get up.
Strategy guide? Tard

I’m going to go ahead and assume that this actually happened.
Son, I am disappoint.
Who’s sitting next to Biden on the first frame?
Mr 0000?
Mr DOOD??
Mr GOOD????
I think it’s Dodd
LOL. this is really funny babylinda!

Why the hell wasn’t it. “son… I am dissapoint”
Because internet cliches are lame and unoriginal?
nice one
